What Is a Manual Transfer Switch?

A manual transfer switch is installed beside the main electrical panel in your home and connects to the circuits you’ll want powered when the power goes out. When you experience an outage, simply plug your generator into the manual transfer switch and crank it up!

You can choose which circuits get power by simply flipping the respective switches, so if you have a smaller generator and only want to power the HVAC system, you would only flip that switch on.
